It is written on your face!

Some people are like that… you look at them and immediately understand what they are about. It’s like it’s written on their face. Learn to talk about these people in pure Russian with today’s episode of “Very Much Russian podcast“!

Hi!

They say that the first impression is deceptive. And they also say: “They meet you by your clothes, but see you off by your mind” (this is a Russian folk proverb). However, there are exceptions from every rule. There are some people that simply have written on their forehead what they really are.

“It’s written on one’s forehead” is a popular expression used to say that everything about a person is clear from one glance at him. Here are some more examples:

They have written on their forehead that they are swindlers!

He has it simply written on his forehead that he was an avid football fan.

You have it written on your forehead that something happened.

This expression can also be used, let’s say, in a mirroring way:

Why do all the guys shy away from me? Is it written on my forehead that I’m a bitch?

And what is written on your forehead? It seems to me that on mine it says that I really need to sleep. 🙂

Saying goodbye for today. May the sun shine for you and good luck smile at you. See you later!
