February 2014 – Long Distance Baking

Have you read Born To Run yet? If you haven’t, drop everything and go pick up a copy and read it. Now. Seriously guys, it’s that good. Kelly read the book first and mailed it to me, telling me to read it. However I looked at the title and thought “Meh, I don’t feel like reading some motivational-get-you-inspired-to-run-and-love-running book” and set it aside. Fast forward a few months and I finally decided to start reading. I was hooked. Immediately. I kept telling my boyfriend over and over … [Read more…]

Happy Monday friends! Don’t you just love Mondays?? Oh wait…maybe that’s just me. Since I work a weekend shift, technically Mondays are my “Fridays” and I end up the most chipper person at work! But in case you’re like the rest of the world and don’t have an impending weekend (aka Tues/Wed/Thurs) to be lazy and do nothing like I do…perhaps these cookies will brighten your day. … [Read more…]

“Embrace the current season of your life.” -Gabrielle Blair February 2014 is almost over… what?!? I feel like it was just Halloween and now you can see St. Patrick’s Day decorations all over the grocery store! This year is flying by, of course every year seems to fly as you get older. I tend to think of the calendar year as an oval. More specifically, kind of like an elongated clock (elongated at 3 and 9) without the times but January starts at where 3:00 is and ends where 12:00 would be … [Read more…]

Well Stephanie, I guess I take the cake on baking procrastination… In my defense, I made this specifically for Valentine’s Day at the office but just haven’t blogged about it until now. The beauty of puppy chow, however, is that it is not holiday specific. You can make it for Easter or  4th of July or tomorrow, just because you feel like it! … [Read more…]

Okay…is anyone else as much of a procrastinator as me? I’ve been mentally preparing to make these brownies for at least a month. I’ve even had the ingredients purchased and sitting on my counter for two weeks. Yet somehow, here I am. February 13. Just now baking something to share for Valentine’s Day. I hope you can forgive me! I first made similar brownies to these a few years ago from The Novice Chef. At the time the BF and I were doing the whole long distance thing, so I thought I would … [Read more…]

Our friends over at Simply Living tagged us in this fun game…Then & Now! Where we look back and compare life as it used to be to how it is now. Here it goes! THEN: ~2004 (high school) NOW: ~2014 (post college) … [Read more…]

Happy World Nutella Day! A holiday I didn’t know existed until last week, but plan on fully celebrating from now on. Did you know today is the 8th anniversary of the holiday?? The day even has its own Twitter if you feel the need to follow the events happening around the world: https://twitter.com/nutelladay/statuses/430976687137128448 As with any holiday, the most appropriate way to celebrate is with cupcakes! Right?? I wanted something simple, not too crazy and over the top, so I opted for a … [Read more…]

Happy World Nutella Day! It is incredibly random that we have a World Nutella Day. Seriously, who comes up with these kinds of days?? Not that I am complaining. As previously mentioned more than once, I am a Nutella addict. And if there is any day to indulge, today is that day. … [Read more…]

If Kelly has a Nutella addiction, I have a peanut butter addiction: on my toast at breakfast, with an apple at lunch, by the spoonful for a snack, on my ice cream at night…it’s a daily necessity. I recently found this honey peanut butter from a local peanut shop. AMAZING. Seriously. I tried eating normal peanut butter after having this and I couldn’t. It’s that good. Sometimes I just eat it with a spoon (someday my metabolism is going to quit on me and I’m going to weigh 500 pounds…) … [Read more…]
